The West Africa Institute (WAI) is a small independent organization that relies upon volunteers and donations for support. We are not religiously or politically affiliated. The West Africa Fistula Foundation (WAFF) is a registered 501(c)3 organization in the USA and Sierra Leone and all contributions are tax deductible. Currently all contributions go through WAFF.
We are proud that 95% of each donated dollar goes directly toward patient care and programs.
A little goes a long way...
- $8 will provide contraceptives for a post-operative patient for two years.
- $35 will feed a patient for a month.
- $50 will supply skills training kits for 5 patients
- $100 will fund one outreach trip to recruit new patients from remote villages.
- $500 will pay for medications and IV fluids for two weeks for the entire fistula ward
- $1000 will cover the cost of one fistula repair surgery
Larger donations will help fund the construction of the West Africa Medical Center and expand our sustainable programs. |
