Dr. Maggi attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma from 1970 to 1974. Upon graduating from medical school, he did his residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana from 1975 to 1978 and in 1981 he received his board certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He had a private practice in Denison Texas for 22 years and in 2004, he founded the West Africa Fistula Foundation.

Samuel Hingha Pieh MPH, WAI Honorary Consultant.
Mr. Pieh received his master’s degree at the University of Michigan. He has had several years of work and volunteer experience in Health Promotion and Community Health Advocacy in the USA as well as several African countries. He was the Executive Director for all Christian Health Hospitals and Clinics in Sierra Leone and is the descendant of the Amistad Saga leader, Sengbeh Pieh.
